Oranges

Orange is one of the citrus fruits. The natural oranges used to be small, bitter and full of kernels, which were bigger and sweeter due to genetic engineering as well as choosing a better variety and sufficient fertilizer. Some properties of oranges include as follows:

Strengthening the immune system, preventing viral infections, reducing cholesterol and the risk of stroke, etc.

Navel Orange

Having a smaller fruit inside, this fruit is high in fiber, which helps regulate blood sugar and prevent bowel cancer. Navel oranges have long shelf life not to mention the properties. This orange falls into two categories named as “Washington Navel” and “Thomson Navel”.

Washington Navel

This orange is the mother of many navel oranges in the world and its fruit is large and heavy. This delicious fruit is fast ripening and has a thick skin which is approximately 200 to 500 grams

Thomson Navel

Thomson Navel is smaller than Washington Navel, also having a thinner, smoother, paler skin. The fruit is weak on the tree in terms of durability and will quickly lose quality. However, it can be stored for long and is less resistant to cold and heat compared to Washington Navel.

Valencia Orange

If you like the sweet-and-sour taste, try Valencia orange. This orange has a firm, fleshy and juicy texture. Oranges are a favorite of chefs around the world because of their sweet-and-sour taste. Valencia oranges are round and oval, and they have thin but rough skin and its prominent glands contain aromatic essential oils that drives you mad. If you are a fan of orange juice, Valencia could do best for you.

Blood oranges

Blood orange is a type of orange whose flesh is blood-colored. This type is usually smaller than ordinary oranges. The dark color of this orange is due to the presence of anthocyanin, common pigment to lots of flowers and fruits, but is rare and uncommon in citrus fruits. Moreover, the varieties include moro, tarocco and sanguinello.

Packaging

Oranges are placed in boxes, wooden cardboard boxes and baskets with special protectives. Such cardboard boxes are of multi-ply cardboards.
